The single family ranch style home on a lot in Fallbrook, CA was a quaint little house that had been purchased by a wonderful couple who relocated from Los Angeles. They loved its rustic charm, but over the years, the kitchen had become outdated and was in dire need of a remodel. So the goal was to reinvigorate this rustic charm kitchen.
They decided to opt for a modern rustic style kitchen remodel, by using 100+ year old reclaimed barn wood to wrap the large kitchen island that was added to provide additional storage and counter space and seating. The custom cabinets with glass doors make this a very inviting kitchen. They also opted to grow the size of the kitchen by claiming an awkward nook area and turned it into a coffee bar and a second sink area. The two soapstone farm sinks at the windows make either station an easy choice for prep or clean up. The countertops were a real focal point using honed danby marble kept simple and unadorned, brough forward the rustic charm.
The kitchen remodel also incorporated modern appliances, including a state-of-the-art refrigerator and oven, as well as a sleek dishwasher. The backsplash was made from large white subway patterned tile and the lighting was updated with modern fixtures that complemented the rustic elements of the kitchen. The family was delighted with the outcome of the kitchen remodel and could not believe how much more functional and spacious the kitchen felt.
The modern rustic style kitchen remodel was a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern design. The family was thrilled with the results, and the kitchen quickly became the heart of the home. The open floor plan and natural wood elements created a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the modern appliances made cooking and entertaining a breeze. The kitchen was a testament to the family’s love for their home.
